Interactive Leadership Skills course is targeted to all doctoral students regardless of their research topic or background.
The course
- briefly presents the concepts of leadership and interaction,
- combines these concepts to provide a framework for good leadership and interactive leadership skills, and
- challenges students to get to know themselves to start to recognize and develop their own leadership skills.
This course consists of videos, lecture slides, related obligatory or optional “nice to know” materials, discussions among students on Moodle discussion board (= group tasks) and individual assignments.
The course is part of the TOHTOS Project funded by European Social Fund (ESF).

- be familiar with the basics of project management and LFA approach, and are able to apply the common project management tools such as Gantt’s chart and WBS
- understand the significance and elements of good leadership

work dynamics, and know how to promote successful group
work
- recognize the special features of multicultural working environment
- know the basics of project communication
and will be able to create a communication and interaction plan
- be able to apply project management skills to a research project

The purpose of this guide is to instruct doctoral students in their career planning, which is supported by thesis supervisors, the doctoral school and the career services at universities.

Työuran suunnittelu on yksi osa kunkin omaa tulevaisuuden mietintää. Tulevaisuuden suunnittelu on prosessi, jota työstämme uuden tiedon sekä sisäisten ja ulkoiset kokemusten perusteella. Mitä aikaisemmassa vaiheessa tämän prosessin saa tietoiseksi toiminnaksi, sen parempi, mutta koskaan ei ole liian myöhäistä.
