• Open Science and Research is often divided into three different elements and Open Access (OA) is the best known of the four (others are Open Data, Open Research Process and Open Education). Open Access is about increasing the opportunity for everyone to freely access research outputs.

    This section contains lessons on what is Open Access, how you can increase access to your own research and importantly, why you should do it.

    The section also broadens the view on Open Access by the lessons on Predatory Journals as they warp the publication landscape, as well as Open Peer Review, as that is part of increasing the openness of how we share and validate research results.
